Facebook rolls out new Pages for Business – with one major advantage

Friday, August 5th, 2016

Although Facebook was testing out a new Facebook page for businesses last month, it has now confirmed that the new layout will be available to all its users soon. We had a sneak peek at how this new layout will look like.

With this layout, we can appreciate that the cover photo and the logo are now separated and the page sections are now listed clearly beneath the page name. The ‘call to action button is also bigger and more prominent, once again leaving the cover photo uncluttered.

The page content is also more in focus and centred thus allowing the user to easily read the page’s posts.

Did you notice one major advantage? Yep, business pages will not have advertising! This means no competitor ads showing on your Facebook page … for now.

Facebook to reduce number of business posts on user timelines

3
Feb

Facebook have announced that they will be reducing the number of posts from Business pages from people’s news feeds. This will be done to increase the quantity of posts by friends while scrolling through the social medium. The reasoning behind this, according to Mark Zuckerberg, is that using social media to interact with people we care about can be beneficial, while “passively reading articles or watching videos… may not be as good.”
