Nenuthebaker.com – New Website Launched

Thursday, February 20th, 2020

Nenu the Artisan Baker is the quintessential traditional Maltese eatery offering the authentic food you’d expect your grandma to serve for Sunday lunch. Their menu boasts a selection that will, undoubtedly, appeal to anyone – from Maltese ftira to rabbit and soppa ta’ l-armla.

The team at Nenu the Baker, asked us to recreate their website in order to make it more current and functional, displaying their newly improved menu and just in time for the opening of their second restaurant in Mgarr.
We held a number of meetings with the client in order to establish a way forward with this new custom website, analysing the old website and understanding what needed to be done away with, improved and introduced. Web design proceeded once we were confident that we had all the necessary information at hand, keeping the brand colours intact but focusing more on what Nenu has to offer – appetising food.

Custom web development ensued once the clients were satisfied with the design of the website. The website was developed from the ground-up, welcoming the visitor with a video background, making the user experience a truly immersive one. As mentioned above, in this website, it is the visuals that do most of the talking, and the focus is on the background video and the food photography. The website also hosts a booking form, making it easier for the user to go from viewing the pictures and menu, to booking a table seamlessly. The booking form is coded in a way to only allow users to book during the days and times that any of their outlet is open. Users can also view Nenu’s Facebook page and TripAdvisor page through widget tabs on the side of the page.

The website was also coded to be mobile and tablet responsive, since no business worth its salt can afford their online presence not to be comfortably accessible through their mobile devices. Being a custom developed website, Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) was also implemented in the website’s code structure in order to help the page’s ranking on engine searches.

A Content Management System (CMS) allowing the clients to update the content of the website was built, ensuring their independence in updating content easily, without the need of engaging third parties. Since it’s launch, numerous people have already visited the website both on a local and international level. We hope that with this new website, Nenu the Artisan Baker will continue to thrive on their success!

Facebook to reduce number of business posts on user timelines

3
Feb

Facebook have announced that they will be reducing the number of posts from Business pages from people’s news feeds. This will be done to increase the quantity of posts by friends while scrolling through the social medium. The reasoning behind this, according to Mark Zuckerberg, is that using social media to interact with people we care about can be beneficial, while “passively reading articles or watching videos… may not be as good.”
