New Logo and eCommerce website for www.mybeautyhacks.com

Thursday, October 31st, 2019

MyBeautyHacks.com is a new local initiative selling a wide selection of cosmetic products online. We were approached to create new branding and an online presence for this company.

Logo Design and Branding

The first step was to create a brand. Several meetings were held in order to fully understand the client’s needs, style and target market. It was established that the brand was to be fresh, contemporary and exciting.

Custom Website Design and Development

Following the branding exercise, the website design stage was next. The primary aim for this new website was to make it user-friendly, personal and have a current presence, as well as ensuring an enjoyable browsing experience. Since at MyBeautyHacks.com business is only conducted online it was of paramount importance that the site is geared heavily towards digital marketing in its online shopping section.

After several meetings in order to fully understand the intricacies of the internal processes of the company, stock and shipping procedures, the web design stage ensued. Detailed visuals of the pages concerned with the eCommerce process were drawn up and discussed with the client. After some initial changes, the client was fully satisfied with the website look and feel and website development could commence.

The website was custom designed and developed from the ground up, making the website look, feel and function exactly as the clients requested and envisaged. The website boasts several sections, including a state-of-the-art, custom-made online shop that is easy to use and a shopping cart that facilitates the payment process, creating a seamless experience between the website and the payment gateway. Several other important custom functions enriched the online shopping experience, including instant product filtering by type, price or colour within a specific category, intelligent and suggestive search, giving users results while they are typing, as well as multiple payment gateways, allowing the user to pick between paying via PayPal or directly via their credit card.

Each user can also opt to create an account. This will allow them to track orders as well as join stock waiting lists. This allows users to be informed via email when a product they would have requested is back in stock.

For the website administrator, managing the online shop is a breeze. Stocks are easily imported into the website whilst all emails are handled automatically by the website itself, including purchase confirmations or transaction failure, out of stock notifications, as well as back in stock emails. Other intelligent functions also include “abandoned cart” emails, meaning that users receive an email when they add items to the cart without proceeding to payment. Lastly, the website administrator can also make use of important data arising from Google Analytics as well as banner click tracking to optimise the marketing efforts.

Due to the nature of this website, it was also  important to be optimised for mobile phones and tablets, and was tested on several different platforms prior to launch.

We wish MyBeautyHacks.com success with their new website and look forward to working on future projects with them.

Facebook to reduce number of business posts on user timelines

3
Feb

Facebook have announced that they will be reducing the number of posts from Business pages from people’s news feeds. This will be done to increase the quantity of posts by friends while scrolling through the social medium. The reasoning behind this, according to Mark Zuckerberg, is that using social media to interact with people we care about can be beneficial, while “passively reading articles or watching videos… may not be as good.”
