New logo and website launched for Rob’s Swim School

Friday, April 6th, 2018

We were entrusted with the design and development of a website for Rob’s Swim School – a leading swimming school for children, headed by Malta’s own Small Nations Games medal holder, Roberta Stellini.

Roberta Stellini, has been teaching swimming for over than 25 years, making her a leader in the field on the Maltese islands.

We first met the client in order to establish what her needs were, and it was established that we had to start from scratch. Armed with a better insight into what the client did and her needs were, we worked on visualizing her brand and creating her logo. This was the first step in building a foundation on which to build her new website.

Custom web design

Meetings in order to better understand the intricacies of her business operations ensued, including her different courses at different levels, booking system, teaching techniques etc. Doing this allowed us to launch into our website design with a clear idea of what the fundamental functionalities of the website had to be. It was to be ensured that the website served two main roles – providing information about who the client is and what her courses offer, and encouraging parents to book their children’s swimming courses online.

Web development from the ground up

The web development stage commenced as soon as all the details of the web design were ironed out and the client was entirely satisfied. The state-of-the-art booking system was built with the added functionality to detect when classes were close to reaching their maximum capacity, and when they eventually reach it, by not allowing more registrations than a pre-set fixed number.

The system is also integrated with MailChimp’s email automation system, prompting parents to proceed to subsequent phases of the booking process via emails. This makes the booking system seamless and provides both the client and the parents with a well-explained procedure to follow.

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) was integrated throughout development of the website, leaving no stone unturned while the website was painstakingly developed from the ground up. The custom website is also optimized for mobile phones and tablets, making it accessible on several different devices and tested on a number of different platforms. This allows users the flexibility that is so necessary in today’s day and age, allowing them to book and upload the necessary data from any device.

The client in mind

While the website was being developed, the client, Rob’s Swim School staff, was constantly kept in mind by making the whole system easy to manage, while automating as many functions as possible, such as automatic closure of registration once they hit a certain limit and sending of confirmation and reminder emails. The client also has full control and access to the management of the website through a Content Management System (CMS), whereby she can amend and tweak classes as necessary in order to better accommodate clients, as well as updating the content and opening new class intakes. Once the development stage was completed, the client was instructed on how to use and manage the website.

We do wish her the best of luck and trust that this new system will make her endeavors all the more successful.

“I am so happy with the website! It has made my life so much easier. Fernand has helped me every single step of the way. He has been able to explain complicated technology in the simplest of forms. He spent the time to understand what I wanted and has delivered exactly that and more. Will recommend him hands down!”

Facebook to reduce number of business posts on user timelines

3
Feb

Facebook have announced that they will be reducing the number of posts from Business pages from people’s news feeds. This will be done to increase the quantity of posts by friends while scrolling through the social medium. The reasoning behind this, according to Mark Zuckerberg, is that using social media to interact with people we care about can be beneficial, while “passively reading articles or watching videos… may not be as good.”
